Project Overview
Engaged by Ridgemill on behalf of Department of Education to carry out refurbishment of two x teaching blocks and one SEP block.
Future Fitouts managed the project and coordination of all contractors including the following works; demolition and relocation, building works, new partitions and linings, electrical, data, painting, flooring (both carpet and vinyl), glazing, joinery and minor works to air conditioning.
1 week into the project, the school took advantage of the COVID-19 shutdowns and requested we also complete Block 1 and 2.
KEY LEARNINGS
Tight timeframes for delivery of this refurbishment due to meeting deadlines over the school holiday period and before teachers and students resumed at school, also adding an additional 2 blocks without any extension of time.
To manage this and achieve handover; outside hours and weekend works were coordinated to meet delivery. Whilst the children were on school holidays, our delivery team were managing expectations of staff, teachers and other stakeholders while working in a live environment.
Overall, project delivered on time and on budget.
