Project Overview
Engaged by Ridgemill on behalf of the Department of Education to carry out a refurbishment of two teaching blocks and one SEP block. Future Fitouts managed the project and coordination of all contractors including the following works; demolition and relocation, building works, new partitions and linings, electrical, data, painting, flooring (both carpet and vinyl), glazing, joinery and minor works to air conditioning.
Key Learnings and Methodology
The Future Fitouts team worked to tight timeframes within a live environment while managing the expectations of staff, teachers and other stakeholders. One week into the project, the school took advantage of the COVID-19 shutdowns and requested we also complete Blocks 1 and 2. The project’s tight timeframe for delivery due to the requested completion over the school holiday period and the additional building works required careful planning and coordination of trades and material delivery over the 3-week construction period including outside hours and weekend works. The project was handed over on time and on budget.
